As a business, we are committed to fundraising for local charities. This year we have decided to support the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.
This charity has been chosen by Rookery Manor staff and by fundraising we hope to be able to help them continue the amazing work they do. We are aiming to raise a grand total of £5000!
To raise money, a team of our staff are taking part in a sponsored endurance event. Our team, ‘Rookery Rivals’, is made up of 15 of our staff who have put themselves forward to take part in the Bristol Tough Mudder 5k on Sunday 18th May. The Tough Mudder Challenge is a 5k run with obstacles, where participants get covered in mud, water and sand!
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is a registered charity (Charity Number 1078685), established to provide relief from sickness and injury for the people of Dorset and Somerset, by the provision of an air ambulance. With no direct funding from the Government or the National Lottery they rely on the generosity of the public for support. Their operational costs are over £2.5 million a year and the approximate cost per mission is £3,000.
Since their launch in 2000, they have flown more than 12,000 missions. As part of the normal ‘999’ emergency process by a dedicated Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) desk located at Ambulance Control (paid for by the South West Air Ambulance Charities) they can attend up to eight or nine incidents in a single day.
Every contribution counts and is much appreciated. If you would like to support this important cause, you can support our fundraising efforts via our Just Giving page:
